Victory Garden

I have been reading a lot about people planting "Victory Gardens".  I love gardens but I am not much of a gardener, and in Arizona it is very difficult, though not impossible to grow a lush thriving garden.
I will be sticking to my cactus garden for now, it requires very little work. I will have plenty of beautiful blossoms and no food items, but I think I can live with that.

Tiny Bouquet

Every time my Grandson goes out to play he comes in with flowers for me.  This weekend he picked these tiny wildflowers out of the front yard.  I put them in a little glass (it is only about 2" tall) and made this sweet little bouquet.

Golden Coffee Cup

Anyone who knows me knows that I love coffee and vintage things. This morning I reached for my favorite vintage mug to have my coffee. It is an old gold Fire King mug. It is special because my mom bought it for me, just because she knew I would go crazy over it. I use this mug when I am feeling especially good and happy. It reminds me that life is golden and we should stop and appreciate the small things. Each day is a gift and a blessing!

First Day of Spring...

I love spring! I especially love the gorgeous wildflowers that pop up in our yards this time of year. They are only here for a short time but they are gorgeous.

Baby Love!

Over the weekend, Saturday morning to be exact...a sweet baby boy was born.

He weighed 10 lbs even.  He is 21 1/2".  I got the call at 1:40AM that baby was

born around 12:20AM on Saturday morning...

His parents (my son and daughter in law) are so happy, excited, and relieved to have the baby in their arms.  Mom endured 31 hours of labor.  The baby got stuck and has a fractured clavicle, the Dr said this happens and will heal up on it's own within a few weeks. Both mom and baby are doing great.  They will be heading home today.

Cactus Flowers...

After feeling totally crappy all week. I thought that getting some fresh air and sunshine would be great medicine. I took a walk around my yard and to my surprise I found this gorgeous cactus in bloom. It is so beautiful and I feel a lot better now! I love Arizona this time of year, everything is starting to bloom and the weather is just perfect.

Spring Training Game

Yesterday Jeff and I took Grandson to a spring training game. The weather was perfect. The Oakland A's played the Cleveland Indians. We left after the sixth inning so I don't know what the final score was.

Grandson had a blast having a snow cone and cotton candy.

Birds on a Wire...musical notes

Last night I looked up at the power lines running through the easement of my backyard and saw birds sitting on them.
The way they were placed on the wire reminded me of musical notes.
