The Rain is Gone!

The storm blew East at Sunset last night.
This morning the sky is bright blue and not one cloud.
I am going outside and enjoy the sunshine today!

This Is Why I am Miserable Today...

I have been unable to do hardly anything today, everything hurts.
I was diagnosed with Severe Rheumatoid Arthritis on December 10. (Now you know why my blogging had become few and far in between)  I had a major flare in October and I could not function at all. I am still continuing to get it under control.  I was doing pretty good until today...
I know once the rain goes away I will be feeling better.
I found this chart in the weather forecast and didn't even know such a thing existed, this could be a valuable tool for me.  So the Arthritis Index for today is Extreme, that explains a lot.

Arthritis Index
The fact that weather has an effect on how arthritis is felt by its sufferers is well documented, with surveys showing as many as 93% of arthritis sufferers believing that weather affects their pain level, and 68% believing that weather severely affects their pain level. Patients with arthritis often claim they can predict the weather, based upon their pain level, and a number of studies have been conducted to test this hypothesis. While these studies show that the effects of weather can vary from person to person, many show that arthritis pain is increased by a variety of weather factors, which may swell inflamed arthritic joints, stretching the inflamed joint lining and capsule, thereby increasing the pain of arthritis.

Among the types of weather that may increase joint sensitivity and arthritic pain are:

1. Changes in atmospheric pressure, especially falling pressure
2. Changes in temperature, especially lowering temperature
3. High or increasing relative or absolute humidity
4. Relatively low atmospheric pressure
5. Low temperatures
6. Precipitation

Arthritic pain can be especially severe when these conditions are combined, such as during chilly, damp weather when pressure is low and falling.

Now, AccuWeather has developed an index that combines all of the weather factors that may affect arthritis sufferers, and summarizes the most likely severity of weather-related arthritis pain in one easy-to-understand scale, from Low to Extreme. Available exclusively on AccuWeather.com, the AccuWeather Arthritis Index forecasts this level for each of the next several days, so arthritis sufferers can have advanced notice of when they are most likely to have increased pain, allowing them to take appropriate medication and to better plan activities.

My Own Personal Lake

It rained all night and is still raining today, it is suppose to rain through tomorrow.
The retention basin across the street from my house is getting fuller and fuller...turning into my own personal lake.

Lost Tooth

Grandson's tooth had been wiggly for sometime, in fact his permanent tooth was already peeking through.  He came running in after dinner with his tooth in his hand. " Look!  I lost my tooth!" I ran and got the the camera while his mom inspected his mouth. I told him to smile and hold up his tooth.  After I took this picture he said  "I don't feel so good".  Losing a tooth would make me queasy too.
(PS Excuse the chocolate pudding on his face, we were too excited to wipe it off first)

It's A Coffee Kind of Day...

I found this and being a coffee addict I thought I would share:

Caffeine is my shepherd; I shall not doze.
It maketh me to wake in green pastures:
It leadeth me beyond the sleeping masses.
It restoreth my buzz:
It leadeth me in the paths of consciousness for its name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of addiction,
I will fear no Equal™:
For thou art with me; thy cream and thy sugar they comfort me.
Thou preparest a carafe before me in the presence of The Starbucks:
Thou anointest my day with pep; my mug runneth over.
Surely richness and taste shall follow me all the days of my life:
And I will dwell in the House of Mochas forever.
