We took it easy for most of the day. We had lunch at McDonald's and Ethan played on the playground there. Then we went to the bookstore and came back with 3 great books.
The rest of the day was spent coloring, cutting paper and playing with cars.
I took Ethan home to his Mom, he slept all the way there.
It is so quiet here today.

Christmas Vacation With Ethan ~ Day 1....
We had a fun day yesterday. We watched cartoons until the sun warmed up the field across the street, then Grandpa and Ethan played some baseball.
Then Ethan and Grandpa picked some lemons off the tree for lemonade.
We had a snack of mini marshmallows! Yummy!
Tune in tomorrow for an update on the fun we had today!

Day after Christmas...
It is the day after Christmas, kind of cold and rainy out. I was looking through my gifts trying to decide what I am going to do today. (I do know I have to do some work!)
Peter got me this great digital picture frame, so... my mission today is to figure out how it works and set it up. First, I need to decide if I want it in my office or in my bedroom. Those are the two places I spend the most time.

Merry Christmas...
Christmas Eve was our family celebration. We had a great time and guess who ended up with a huge pile of presents? Ethan! He was so happy and excited!
Before everyone went home, we all piled onto the couch for a family picture. We all look a little goofy, but what fun!

A Great Quote
I found this quote first thing this morning:
Dost thou love life?
Then do not squander time,
for that is the stuff life is made of.
- Benjamin Franklin
It made me think of all the things I have to do to get ready for Christmas!
So I am off and running to shop and finish all Christmas preparations today so I can relax and enjoy my holiday.

Lemon Picking
I went outside to pick lemons off of our lemon tree, only to be chased around by "Bear".
He wanted to play and everytime I picked a lemon, he tried to take it out of my hand. I did manage to get in the house with 2 lemons!
What a nutty dog!

Busy!!!!
Had a busy weekend, went to two parties, one Saturday night and one Sunday night.
Sunday was "Pie Night" at my friend's house. She makes a bunch of pies, invites everyone over, we all eat pie, exchange gifts and go home with a plate full of pie! So much fun!

A Thanksgiving Prayer
Heavenly Father, kind and good,
Thanks we offer for this food;
For Thy love and tender care,
For all the blessings that we share.
Amen.

Last Week Highlights
Not a lot of news last week. On Sunday, Jeff and I officially became members of The Love of Christ Lutheran Church. Monday, I went to the movies and saw Ghost Town with Peggy and Carol for Peggy's birthday. I picked Ethan up from school on Friday afternoon, he stayed until about 1PM on Saturday. We had a lot of fun. Other than that it was business as usual. I am working on getting my house clean for Thanksgiving and the Holidays.

A chuckle for Today
I found this video on the web today and it just made me laugh.
Target shopping carts on the loose. Enjoy.
Also, Tiny Tim is singing in the background, how fitting!

After the Elections...
Today's news:
Obama already has to make an apology to Nancy Regan.
And now Sarah Palin has to defend herself, can't anyone say anything nice anymore?

New President...
A Prayer for Our Nation
God of ages,
in your sight nations rise and fall,
and pass through times of peril.
Now when our land is troubled,
be near to judge and save.
May leaders be led by your wisdom;
may they search your will and see it clearly.
If we have turned from your way,
help us to reverse our ways and repent.
Give us your light and your truth to guide us;
through Jesus Christ,
who is Lord of this world, and our Savior. Amen.

Vote!
Went out and voted this morning, luckily, we had our early ballots already filled in so we were able to just drop them in the box and avoid the long line.
Be sure to go vote, this is an important election!

Welcome to November!
Wow! I can’t believe October is over already.
Looking back it was a very busy month,
we had Peter’s 20th birthday, Jeff and my 5th anniversary, Jeff’s birthday, Jason & Lisha’s Wedding, Church Membership classes, and Halloween. It was a great month!
Looking forward to a pleasant and busy November.
Highlights to look forward to are Election Day, Jeff & I becoming members of Love of Christ Lutheran Church, Stephen’s Birthday and Thanksgiving.

Halloween Fun

That was then
The Day Before Halloween
It's the day before Halloween, I am just sitting here thinking that I need to go get my costume today. I was kind of layed up yesterday, didn't feel well so I put everything off until today.
I also need to find a new book since I finished "Marley & Me" on Sunday night.
I know! Off to the Goodwill to look for November's booklist and a Halloween outfit.

Halloween Costume
My grandson, Ethan visited with me last Saturday. We had the best time, we colored, baked cookies, watched Sponge Bob, walked the dogs and had a great dinner. After dinner, I drove him home, as I was driving I asked him if he had his Halloween costume. He said yes, he was going to be the "Blue Power Ranger". Then he asked me if I had my costume. I said no, what should I be for Halloween? He thought about it for a long time, then he said "Princess", Grandma, you should be a Princess. So I will be out looking for my "Princess" costume next week. Oh, he told me he was sure I could find a great costume at Target.

My October Reading List...
I have been busy reading some great books this month. I would certainly recommend them to everyone. The first one I read was "The Secret Life of Bees" by Sue Monk Kidd. I actually read it over a year ago but when I heard it was coming onto the big screen this month I decided to read it again. It really puts life into perspective.
Right now I am reading "Marley & Me". Being a dog lover myself, I am finding that Marley is alot like my dog "Bear". This is a fun, fast paced book about life.

The Wedding
Yesterday was a whirlwind. My niece, Lisha got married. Jeff and I went early and helped to set up the wedding. The wedding was beautiful. Lisha looked like a Princess. Her brother Aaron was the Minister.
Lisha's other brother Chris was in the wedding party and looked absolutely handsome.
My sister Faith, the Mother of the Bride looked gorgeous and was so happy!
The Father of the Bride, Jeff, was so proud and happy.
Of course there were happy Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, cousins and lots of friends there for the very special day. What a great day!!

I'm going to be a Grandma again!
Great news! Stephen called this morning. He and Jen are going to the Dr.
tomorrow for their sonogram.
I can’t wait to find out if they will have a boy or girl, personally I am rooting for a little granddaughter, but I am really not picky, just a healthy baby will be what I want.
UPDATE: The baby is a Boy!!! Due March 16.
